From Diagnosis to Recovery: Alternative Cancer Therapies
Meet Charity,
Her story is a testament to the saying “One mountain, many paths.”
A few years ago, she went for a thermogram. A thermogram is an alternative screening to a mammogram, used to detect abnormalities in breast tissue. She had a family history of breast cancer and thought it would be a good idea to have a screening. She was surprised to discover that she had breast cancer despite feeling perfectly healthy. A thermogram uses a scoring system. Her score of T4 was high on the spectrum and raised concern.
She already knew she didn’t want to go down the traditional pathway for breast cancer treatments. She had done other natural treatments in the past and knew she had other options to explore. She came back to the West Clinic and began treatments of IV vitamin infusion therapy and energy and mind-body healing.
After six months of treatment, Charity went back for a follow-up scan, feeling anxious but optimistic. The nurse who conducted the test was not optimistic about the efficacy of alternative therapies, but Charity had faith in her decision. When the results came back, Charity was overjoyed to learn that her scan was clear. She knew then that she had made the right choice in her treatment pathway.
Her advice to someone who has been told they have a serious diagnosis is… “First of all, you cannot let your diagnosis become your identity. Do not attach yourself to any diagnosis. And second, look into your alternative options, consider all of your treatment options, and chose a pathway that feels right to you.”
For Charity, her cancer journey was about more than just beating the disease - it was about staying true to herself and taking control of her health. She watched her mom go through cancer treatments when she was younger, and she is so grateful that she was able to beat this and that her kids wouldn’t have to go through the same situation.
Each person’s pathway is different, but if you are curious about or contemplating alternative or natural supportive therapies, contact the West Clinic to discuss all of your options.
