What is LIPO-MIC?

LIPO-MIC natural injection therapy

Hello my friends. I hope you are finding ways to enjoy the winter months.

Knowing me, is to understand, how much I love winter and research. Years ago, I did not feel I would utter those words when I was in the trenches of studies at the University.  I have grown to love it! I understand how to read and interpret research, getting past the fluff and to why it’s important for me and the people who trust me with their healthcare.

Over the last several months, I had the thought(s); what can I do to improve how I feel and reduce the number of oral supplements I take daily? I know I will require supplements for the rest of my life to support my body and I want to continue to feel good or even feel better and yet, I desire a “break” for a few weeks.

Research led to an improved formulation of LIPO-MIC injections at the West Clinic. This formula is an amazing product for us, and now you, our existing patient or soon to be new patient, can choose to test these out for yourself.

So, what is LIPO-MIC? This is a product that has three different ingredients to improve cellular processes at the most basis level to keep us running. There are many theories out there, many solutions, many diets, many supplements to take you from point A to point B. I have been overwhelmed so many times trying to figure out what to do for myself and at times, for patients. Each day I have someone teach me about another lab test, diet, miracle supplement, pill, new type of enema, homeopathic drop, multi-level marketing product, etc., that promises the miracle. I haven’t seen one thing work for all of us, ever. Now, I’m not saying it isn’t out there, I’m saying I haven’t found that for me or one miracle case to date. What I have found is, taking an occasional break from all the noise around me, helps me to get clear on what are my next steps to feel better. Occasional breaks help reduce our stress about reducing the stress that’s causing the stress of feeling better. Now that’s a lot of stress responses being activated, no wonder we feel we need a break.

What I have tried lately are the LIPO-MIC injections. Twice weekly, injected into the gluteus maximus, giving me a break. It calms my soul, to allow me to receive the next patient, project, life joy, without the stress of worrying about the stress. We all need a break occasionally, and our health program is no different. I am not saying this is a forever solution or the miracle, I am saying this is a stress reducer for the moment and still supports our innate cellular processes to help us feel our best. Will it work for you? I won’t guarantee anything because you get to decide that for yourself. I am your messenger and facilitator if you feel it is part of your journey.

For those of us that like the science behind it all, here you go:

LIPO-MIC is a combination of the following: L-Methionine, Inositol, and Choline Chloride.

Description:

  • L-Methionine, Inositol, and Choline Chloride are lipotropic agents – lipotropic meaning: promoting the physiological utilization of fat
  • L-methionine has a role as a nutraceutical, a micronutrient, an antidote to paracetamol (acetaminophen) poisoning, and a human metabolite.1 It mediates lipid metabolism, activates endogenous antioxidant enzymes such as methionine sulfoxide reductase A, and involves in the biosynthesis of glutathione to counteract oxidative stress.2
  • Inositol is a sugar alcohol found in foods such as cereals, corn, meat, citrus fruits, and legumes. Myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol are the most relevant with regards to supplementation. Inositol seems to modestly improve lipid parameters, blood pressure, and insulin resistance in patients with metabolic syndrome.3
  • Choline is an essential nutrient that is synthesized in the body and consumed in the diet. It is related to the water-soluble B vitamins folate, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin, and to the essential amino acid methionine. Choline, a component of cell membranes and a precursor for acetylcholine, is involved in brain development, neurotransmission, and signaling.4

Active ingredients:

  • L-methionine- is metabolized mainly by the liver where it is converted to S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe).5 SAMe functions as a primary methyl group donor, and contributes to the synthesis, activation, and metabolism of hormones, neurotransmitters, nucleic acids, proteins, phospholipids, and some drugs.6
  • Inositol - It is thought that inositol is metabolized to phosphoinositol and then converted to phosphatylinositol-4,5-biphosphate which is a precursor of the second-messenger molecules. Inositol can be transformed to D-chiro-inositol via the actions of an epimerase. The normal modifications to inositol structure seem to be between all the different isomers.7
  • Choline chloride - is an important component of phospholipids, affects mobilization of fat from liver (lipotropic action), acts as methyl donor, and is essential for formation of neurotransmitter acetylcholine.8

 Inactive Ingredients:

  • Sterile Water for Injection - sterile, nonpyrogenic, distilled water for intravenous administration after addition of a suitable solute.

Preservatives:

  • Benzyl Alcohol-one of the most used preservatives in multidose vials.14 It is soluble in water and other solvents and commonly found in consumer and healthcare products (lotion, cold sore gel, sunscreens, cleansing cloths).15 It can cause irritation and contact dermatitis, but low concentrations are used as a bacteriostatic agent such as with this solution.16

If you are one that is against preservatives, then this is not for you. We have a better alternative for you. Come see us for a consultation.

Common Uses of LIPO-MIC are:

  • L-methionine helps lower cholesterol levels by increasing the liver's production of lecithin; reduces liver fat and protects the kidneys; prevents disorders of the hair, skin, and nails; influences hair follicles and promotes hair growth; or used for parenteral nutrition.10
  • Inositol helps decrease blood sugar levels and reduce body mass via fat breakdown; it can act as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory.11
  • Choline chloride increases the transport and metabolism of lipids including the synthesis of lipoproteins by the liver and their uptake by extrahepatic tissues.12

This formula is not recommended for every single person. Some of the absolute contraindications – meaning you can’t have this formula are the following:

  • Methionine can cause changes in the serum pH and should not be used in patients with acidosis. Metabolism of methionine can result in the formation of sulfuric acid. This equates to not being suitable for those with Diabetes, type 1 or 2 whom are on medications or insulin.13
  • Patients with a genetic mutation, MTHFR C677T, which results in homocysteine metabolic deficiency, should avoid methionine supplements. Theoretically, methionine in patients with this genotype could increase the risk for the adverse vascular effects of hyperhomocysteinemia.13

There are Safety Precautions/Warnings/Risks which will be discussed during our consultation. We give you facts at the West Clinic, we don’t ask you to believe every single word we say as gospel, we empower YOU to choose for YOU, backed with science, years of education and clinical practice.

IF you feel you want to discuss the LIPO-MIC or any of the other injections we offer, give us a call for an appointment or fill out this form, if YOU CHOOSE.
