Roxanne’s Journey: A Story of Resilience and Remission
It’s Dr. West, and I’m here with Roxanne, our hero of the day. Her story is an incredible testament to resilience, hope, and the power of integrative care.
Roxanne, let’s start with how our paths crossed.
Roxanne: "Well, my family has been treated by your family for three generations now. Your dad, your grandpa, and then you. We reconnected last October because I had a double mastectomy, and the cancer center was suggesting oral chemotherapy. Honestly, the idea scared me—it came with so many side effects like severe diarrhea. I’m 73 years old, and I didn’t want to spend the next five years feeling miserable."
So, Roxanne came to the West Clinic for an assessment and support treatments, and the results have been nothing short of amazing. We're celebrating becasue all of her scans are clean. While we don’t use the term “cancer-free” just yet, she’s in remission and only needs check-ups every six months.
What Did We Do?
Roxanne’s treatment plan was personalized and holistic. We used:
- High-dose vitamin C IVs
- B17 (Laetrile) therapy—protected by Idaho law, which allows us to offer this unique therapy.
- Medical-grade mushrooms imported from Belgium, packed with powerful anti-tumor peptides.
Beyond the treatments, Roxanne did a lot of heavy lifting herself, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Roxanne: "I avoid sugar—strenuously. I eat clean, focusing on green vegetables like cabbage and broccoli. It’s all about making choices that support my health."
The Power of Prevention
We’ve now shifted Roxanne to a prevention program. She visits us once a month for ongoing care and support. This proactive approach ensures she maintains her remission and continues living her best life.
Roxanne also shared some important lessons from her journey:
Roxanne: "The last couple of years have been stressful, but this experience was a reminder to take care of myself first, no matter what’s going on. Gardening, reading, and writing have been my outlets. They help me stay connected with myself."
Advice for Others
When I asked Roxanne what advice she’d give to someone facing a similar diagnosis, she didn’t hesitate.
Roxanne: "Get a second opinion—especially on natural or integrative follow-up options. It’s important to know all your options."
Her story is proof that no matter where you are in your journey, there’s hope.
A Note of Gratitude
Roxanne’s experience has been a win for everyone—for her, for her medical team, and for the entire West Clinic community. Sharing her journey is not just inspiring; it’s a playbook for others navigating their own path to healing.
Roxanne, thank you for letting us share your story. It’s experiences like yours that make being a doctor so rewarding.
To everyone reading, remember this: Your health journey is yours to own, and there’s always a way forward.
