Healing From The Inside Out
West Clinic friends, hello again! So today I am excited to let everyone know how certain treatments have helped me and my family.
I have had many of the therapies (prolozone) for back and joint pain. I must say the red-light therapy is one of my favorites. Red light therapy beds are able to lower your blood pressure, help with pain, skin, scars and blood flow in the body. I have also had neural therapy injections for headaches and scars.
My husband has had neural therapy done for his back pain and numbness in his fingers and toes. He had one treatment and hasn't needed to come back since!
Neural is like acupuncture, only better. It is a vitamin solution of tiny injections on different parts of the body. Neural helps break through traumatized areas of the body that interfere with the bodies own ability to heal itself. Pretty amazing huh?
Many people don't know this about me, but I suffer from body dysmorphia and dermatillomania disorder. Body dysmorphia is a disorder that is at times crippling. Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD) is a distinct mental disorder in which a person is preoccupied with an imagined physical defect or minor defect that others often cannot see.
As a result, people with this disorder see themselves as "ugly" and often avoid social exposure. Sometimes they turn to desperate measures to try and improve their appearance.
Dermatillomania is also a mental illness related to obsessive-compulsive disorder. It is characterized by repeated picking at one's skin imperfections which results in damage to the skin and scarring. It also causes depression which can take a toll on your life.
Some of the treatments that have helped me with these disorders, here at the West Clinic, are ultrasound, laser therapy, and listening to positive affirmations (Brain Tap and Theta Pod). I honestly can say that things have improved. I'm still working on myself and will continue to improve. I try not to focus on the bad, but work through it to be a good influence on my children, which has always been my greater purpose in life.
Beyond the treatments we have, that are super helpful, working at the clinic has been the best treatment of all. Talk about feeling support, feeling better about myself and healthy. I'm a lucky girl to have my work family to support me when I feel I need it.
Life is good and I believe it will continue to get better. I will keep a positive outlook on life and make things happen!
Signing out!
